
Niqab
Niqab is worn to cover the face and sometimes also the eyes. Other call it “chador” “burqa” but they serve the same purpose. Niqab comes in several designs, to name some: Saudi style niqab, Egyptian style, Snap button style, Afghani style, Side zippered style.
1. Saudi style
Is a tie back 40 x 40 cm square fabric. It covers the whole face but eyes. Made of cotton attached to chiffon. Available with 2 addition layers of chiffon (to cover eyes) and without layers. The larger size is 40 x 50 cm (L) and 40 x 60 cm (XL)
2. Egyptian style
Is a tie back 40 x 40 cm square fabric with 2 addition layers of chiffon (to cover eyes). The layers is rounded. The larger size is 40 x 50 cm (L) and 40 x 60 cm (XL)
3. Snap button style
Is a 40 x 40 cm square fabric with snap button to attached the niqab to the khimar. Or you can use velcro or a elastic tie instead this snap button. It covers the face under the eyes. Made of similar fabric of the abaya. This niqab can be used to cover eyes. This is one of the most common niqab used by Indonesian sisters. The larger size is 40 x 50 cm (L) and 40 x 60 cm (XL).
4. Afghani style
Type of niqab usually used by sisters in Afghanistan. Never made before. Sorry.
5. Side zippered style
This looks like a small khimar with extra fabric attached in the face area, to cover the face. One of this attachement is equipped with zipper, to allows you to eat, or drink. Wore above the khimar.
